With school holidays coming up, why not give your kids the opportunity to learn some new skills with one of our fun and entertaining cooking sessions?

We have classes running from an hour through to full-day, and cater for kids from 2 to 15 years of age.

This school holiday we’re putting a special emphasis on Italian and French-Mauritian cuisine, and we also have 2 speciality classes available for older children – 10+ Italian and French-mauritian, plus our popular Easter chocolate workshop.

Dates:

Monday 29th March – Thursday 1 April
Tuesday 6th April – Friday 9th April

Gourmet Kids Cafe – now with Slushies!

Keeping up with our new look, we’ve introduced Slushie machines to our Gourmet Kids cafe, specially for our little stars.

And if you drop in to the Gourmet Kids cafe before 26th March, you can enjoy our Buy One Get One Free Slushie offer!

Come in to our Malvern store anytime between Monday and Friday, 3.30pm-5.00pm until 26th March, and enjoy two-for-one on the healthy alternative to beating the heat with a frosty treat for those hot summer days.

Our funky Slushie flavours taste great, and are made from 100% real fruit and ice with no added sugar, colourings or artificial flavours. We also have refreshing coffees and a range of sweet treats to enjoy – we hope to see you there!

French-Mauritian cuisine classes

After seeing how popular our recent ‘exotic cooking classes’ have been, we’re excited to introduce some new flavours in our French-Mauritian Cuisine classes starting later this month.

Mauritius has had strong ties with French culture throughout its history and has been left with a very French “savoir vivre”. The popularity of French dishes like the daube, civet de lièvre or coq au vin served with good wine show the prevalence of French culture in Mauritius even today. As years passed by, some have been adapted to the more exotic ingredients of the island to confer some unique flavour.

Our chef John Maurice Angsiting has over 12 years of experience as a chef, and is currently honing his skills in 5-star hotels and award-winning restaurants. John’s relaxed personality and his passion for good food is reflected in the teaching of his cuisine where he uses French cooking techniques combined with refined Mauritian flavours. John’s philosophy is to cook in season, and use only the best organic, bio dynamic and free range produce.

At the end of each class, you’ll have the chance to relax and enjoy what you’ve prepared, leaving both your palate and sense of cooking adventure completely satisfied!

Here at Gourmet Kids, we can’t believe that it’s February already – January seems to have flown by! It seems like only yesterday that we had special celebrations and offers for Christmas with our Gingerbread Houses.

To welcome in a new year, we’ve given both our shop and our website a brand new look for 2010.
